Consulting
A unique approach
Peter’s approach differs in three ways.
1. Peter’s approach is very personal. He values the people
he works with and builds a business relationship andover
time this builds trust
2. Peter focuses mainly on the people within an
organization whereas other consultants often just focus
on the processes
3. So that the project will have the highest possible impact
on the people and the organization, Peter will engage
with his client, you, to understand the overall strategic
vision and direction
Peter then runs either a half or a one day stakeholder session to establish and fully understand the key wants, objectives, goals and outcomes.
Many individuals within an organisation often have a lot of information and creative ideas about how they want to run the business. The management team can sometimes have different ideas about the direction of the company, its focus, customers and people. Or perhaps they need help to generate ideas.
This stakeholder session is therefore designed to simplify and generalize the data and to find a focus within. All stakeholders are therefore involved in this exercise and misunderstandings and miscommunications will be addressed at this stage of the process. At the end of this session the goal is that all stakeholders will support the ideas generated and the focus moving forward.
Questions asked vary from project to project and could include:
- How would you describe your ideal outcome?
- How will you know that you have achieved your ideal outcome?
- What is the impact you seek on shareholders value?
- How can we expand our business and still stay focused?
- How would your manager recognize the improvement?
- How would employees notice the difference?
- How will you be evaluated in terms of the results of this project?
- What precise aspects are most challenging to you personally and your business?
- How will we measure the success?
After the stakeholder session, you will receive a summary report together with the agreed action points. Peter will then communicate with you via telephone or e-mail to answer any questions which may still open.
Peter will then set baselines & KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) together and begin the partnership.
Depending on the project and to ensure to working with each person’s own style, Peter Gerlach will follow on by assessing skills & behaviours of the people involved. The assessments will look at the people themselves, their business skills, talents, learning styles, ambitions and motives from an individual and an external perspective.
Once completed Peter will set baselines for measurement to establish the common knowledge level.
By taking all of the information collected so far into account, Peter is then ready to develop a tailored and blended solution or strategy, always communicating his progress with you, the client, to keep you informed.
Peter then actions and implement the programmes as appropriate, via a range of possible routes that suit your people and your business. At the end of each session, he will set goals, measure results and set new objectives so that the transfer of knowledge can be secured.
Change is inevitable and comes with each new program. Peter understands this and supports you, the client, to implement the newly learned skills and behaviours. He reviews the process via rigorous follow up sessions until the goals are fully achieved.
Should you require a measurement of personal and business impact, Peter can set this out from the beginning and give you feedback on your measured results, personal and business impact.
By now, your people will have attained their goal or goals. It is time to celebrate! Our relationship will continue to build on what you have learned and support you on an ongoing basis.
